Maths: Labour Weekend

 

Task Description: Today in maths we had to go in groups.. My group was Simon, Nesi, Nina, Bradley, and  Ms. McCartney. We had to use a chart to work this out. We solved it out with 10 selections and had to pick it out of a can. Then when we picked it out we had to write it down in the  selections and had to pick 2 selections. 

Tokelau Language week

 Today we had to research about Tokelau and which different places we can find in Tokelau, Tokelau can have a lot of different places, citys, countries and much more..

Today we learned about Alberto Giacometti and he is famous for a lot of things like standing women, Striding men, and expressive busts (Head and Shoulders). And a lot more

Year 7 step up Program.

Last week on August 5th the year 8’s all went on a year 8 leadership camp, while the year 7’s did a year 7 step up program. We did this to step out of our comfort zone. We did Cup Stacking, and see which team would win, my group Duck Life lost for the three rounds, and Thunder got most the points for cheering for there own group.

Last week, we went around each class room, going through different countries. These were the countries we went too, we saw USA, South Africa, Croatia, Greek Olympians, Jamaica, and Cambodia.

In training

Kauri runs laps around a Pt England Reserve each Morning. The distance of each lap it 800m!

Today for maths we had to try and find a answer for "In training". I had in my group, Jarreka, and Valessa. We had to use time tables for a answer to this question.

3 laps x 8m = 24m

3 laps x 800m = 2400km

2400km was our group answer... 

Cambodian Myth of Lighting, Thunder and Rain.

Task Description: Mrs llaoa was our Myths and Legend teacher for the morning. It was about Cambodian, Myth of lighting. Thunder and Rain. Each god was given a special gift. The crystal ball, was the gift, you were most looking for. They had to collect Morning Dew, and return it to Lok Ta the Hermit.

Greek Mythology

Today for inquiry we learnt about Greek Mythology. We learnt about the different Greek gods, the Greek creation story and about Hermes. When Hermes was a baby he invented fire and a lyre (a harp). 

Decimal Delight!

Task Description: The four student teachers created another activity. Today the whole of room 2 had to do a Decimal Dlight, We had to try and figure out the secret word. We had to fill in the place values, for example. If it says thousands, we had to colour the box any colour u want, same with the Tens, Tenths, and Hundredths.
Try and figure the word out.
